John Hendricks
President/Founding Technologist

Prior to being President and Founding Technologist of Martian Systems, Inc., John served as Corporate Systems Manager for several High Tech Ventures including Avenue A (AVEA, now aQuantive AQNT), a digital marketing technology and services organization, helping advertisers and ad agencies intelligently market products and services online. In this capacity and in addition to being the first employee, he realized that there was very little technology advocacy for Small Businesses in the Puget Sound Region. Therefore, he set out to create a Single Point Support Network for Small Enterprise, which manifested into what is now Martian Systems, Inc.

John is a Seattle Native and grew up just across the Lake Sammamish Valley in Woodinville, WA. He began his career as a technology entrepreneur in 1989 at the age of 19, when he started freelance consulting for a then small Bellevue Based Property Management firm. They are still a client today.

John being well-versed in the realities of running a small business—shoestring budgets, overworked staff, disparate systems—he advocates using technology to outmaneuver such challenges and propel growth. John is Microsoft Certified and entrenched in the entrepreneurial community in the Seattle Metropolitan area.

 

Shannon Hendricks
Co-Founder/Business Operations Manager

Shannon is the versatile interface of Martian Systems. Adroit at utilizing her logistical and motivational experience, she enjoys helping clients use technology to run their businesses more smoothly. Before co-founding Martian Systems, Shannon spent 14 years in corporate America working for Interpoint, Microsoft and Microvision. She supervised teams of people, planned and managed budgets and oversaw projects ranging from product launches, website development, event planning and day-to-day management of marketing communications.

Shannon excels at overcoming obstacles and brings a vivacious attitude to her work with Martian Systems. She graduated on the Dean's list with a B.S. in eBusiness while beating family and health challenges that would have stopped a less determined individual. Shannon is also a Microsoft Alumni Member, an active volunteer for numerous organizations and a calendar girl for cystic fibrosis.
